Due to the nature of the way Tikka barrels are torqued on we need to have the action in in order to get the head space perfect, if the customer chooses to install themselves they understand they will need to headspace it correctly.  We also usually (but not always) need to put a relief cut into the barrel to remove it from the action in order to keep the integrity of the action. We are not able to send out the old barrel if we have to cut it off.
